Siloam Springs

- Length: 4 mile loop - campsites about half way
- Terrain: Fairly hilly for central IL. Wooded, tiny streams. Ruins of post-Civil War mineral spa along trail.

- Check in with Campground Host
- No water at campsite.
- Outhouse and garbage can at campsite

Weldon Springs

- Location:Clinton, IL
- Length: 1-2.6 miles (depending on route)
- Terrain: One hill, not steep. Wooded, Salt Creek at far end.
- Comments:
- Park map and Trailhead map do not accurately depict a key intersection. Multiple unmarked trails.
- Western creek campsite is awesome for kids. Or drunken parties. Watch out for broken glass.
- 4 campsites very close to trailhead

Minnesota
Superior Hiking Trail

- Location: MN, North Shore of Lake Superior from Duluth to Canada
- Bean and Bear Lake Loop
- Length: 6.2 miles, camp half way
- Terrain: steep hills, cliff overlooks.
- Comments:
- Lots to keep the kids amused.
- Spur from main trail to campsite is steep and rocky - consider staying at "rest stop" along main trail.
- Latrines at all camp sites

- Location: Maplewood Township. East of Furgus Falls, North of Alexandria, about 3/4 of the way to Fargo from the Twin Cities
- Length: as little as 0.4 miles, or longer if you make complicated (I think we went 4.5 miles in?)
- Terrain: rolling hills, wooded and prairie. Lots of lakes.
- Comments:
- 3 nice walk-in campsites with latrines, firewood
- Check in with ranger
- Share most trails with horses
- Park map has contour lines!
